I am now over 6,000 words ahead of my word goal! Yay!
I think I will need this buffer in week 2. This is when it gets hard to see where the plot will go next. I have a myriad of characters, so I'm just hoping that they will work it out for me. I'll just go with the flow.
I do have a rough idea of where the novel will end up, and I've even had an idea for a sequel.
I know I said that I wanted to hit 25,000 today if I wasn't working, and I wasn't working, but I did have a lot of other things to do. I did write nearly 2,000 words in an hour though, so hopefully I will hit 25k tomorrow.
Well, they say ‘correction does much, but encouragement does more’, so I suppose it’s time for some encouragement and advice.
Someone recently in the news said: ‘Focusing your life solely on making a buck shows a certain poverty of ambition. It asks too little of yourself, because it’s only when you hitch your wagon to something larger than yourself that you realise your true potential.’
And to follow - some advice. Do not ever (as long as you live) throw away the box or any of the pieces of polystyrene, even the little ones shaped like peanuts.
